Birken Lakeside Resort is an unpretentious waterfront resort located directly adjacent to stunning Gates lake in the B.C. coastal mountains. The resort features six themed rental cabins, a campsite, laundry, hot tub, dock and amenities that will provide everything you need for that 'get away from it all experience' . Located about a 50 minute drive from Whistler B.C. and 20 minutes from Birkenhead Provincial Park, the Birken Lakeside Resort can provide a comfortable and fun filled base for hiking, watersports, nature spotting or just relaxing in an unspoiled natural setting.

There are plenty of things to do nearby. Some suggested activities include

  • Swimming, Canoeing or Kayaking on Gates Lake, or nearby Birkenhead Lake
  • Hiking & Wildlife Spotting, Fishing
  • Golfing at Big Sky Golf and Country Club, or the Pemberton Valley Golf and Country Club.
  • Mountain Biking
  • No motorbikes can be riden on the premises but there are plenty of amazing dirt trails close-by

Our resort is set among two of BC's most scenic peaks - Birkenhead and Gates Mountain. At an elevation of 1815 feet (455m), Gates Lake has a width and length that is approximately 1/2 mile (800m) by 1 mile (1600m). The lake's brilliant blue depths invite swimming, fishing or kayaking and extend to 60 ft (18m) deep with Atlantic salmon, Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden, Kokanee and Rainbow Trout.

Average temperatures are influenced by the interior Thompson - Fraser valleys and are typically much 'higher and drier' than the cooler, wetter coastal weather patterns. Winter temperatures are ideal for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, with an inviting soak in the spacious hot-tub or campfire at the end of the day.
